Improved Nasal Mask Comfort
d07a.JPG (12979 bytes)ResMed, Poway, Calif, introduces the Mirage Activa™ nasal mask with ActiveCell™ Technology, an auto-stabilizing cushion feature that combines the comfort and seal of Mirage® cushions with an “active cell,” an inflatable chamber that expands and contracts during therapy, allowing the mask frame to move independently of the mask cushion. The technology helps reduce headgear strap tension and minimizes leak, providing more comfort for patients and more choices of head and body sleep positions. It also compensates for changes in strap tension, eliminating the need for continual adjustment of headgear straps. Since the ActiveCell relies less on headgear strap tension to achieve an effective seal, the mask also reduces fitting time. (800) 424-0737; www.resmed.com.

By using brackets with the TensionHook hardware, a greater range of forward and drop-angle adjustment can be achieved in addition to side-to-side adjustments for asymmetrical positioning. The back is available in both standard and deep contour support. (800) 327-6080; www.aelseating.com.
