Full Face CPAP Mask
Hans Rudolph, Shawnee, Kan, has released the Full Face V2™ Mask. Designed from years of feedback from key sleep professionals, respiratory therapists, patients, and home care dealers, the V2 offers new seal technology incorporating a soft anatomical flange that follows any face contour. The airtight, leak-free face mask is available in five sizes. The headgear attaches to plastic support braces on the outside of the mask, allowing for less strap tension and less pressure on the patient’s face. The V2 features a detachable swivel port and micro-hole silent CO2 venting. It is available in reusable format for home care and hospital care. The same design will soon be available in disposable format for hospital care in the ICU and respiratory departments for easy, low-cost disposal.

Sleep Diagnostics
Respironics Inc, Murrysville, Pa, introduces the RUSleeping™ RTS, an in-home apneic event screener. Based on a patient’s at-home overnight score, physicians can determine whether the patient is a likely candidate for an immediate polysomnogram. By being presented with objective data regarding their apneic events, patients might more readily accept the need for a complete PSG. When the battery is installed into the base unit, respiratory airflow pressure is sensed via the cannula and the device starts to record apneic events.
